Splitting Product & Flow into three focussed publications—Entrepreneurship, AI and Meditation
Topic-focussed publication serves my audience better
What is changing?
I am splitting this publication, “Product and Flow: Reflections in Entrepreneurship, Product, AI and Meditation,” into three independent publications.
Entrepreneurship, Product, and Go-To-Market focus:
“Product & Flow” will be renamed “Entrepreneurship Unlocked.” This rename will occur starting from the next set of emails.
AI Focus (journeythroughAI):
I am reading through a bunch of AI topics to build my intuition around AI topics and will post what I learn there. So, if you care to take bite-sized intuitions around AI, this would be one to subscribe to.
Meditation focus (formeditators)
I will write about happiness and starting and deepening meditation practice. I will also publish chapters from my upcoming book.
I am taking this an experiment at the moment and don’t quite know what the cadence would be on each publication. The experiment was also about seeing where people congregate most and focus on it.
What actions do you need to take?
If you care about “Entrepreneurship,” there are no actions to take. If you read this for the first time on the web, you can subscribe below.
Subscribe below if you want to hear about AI.
A good number of my current audience cares about “Meditation” topics. I will copy them over (my audience isn’t huge so this should be easy). If you don’t care about the topic and don’t want to be moved over, reply to this email and I can take you out.
You can subscribe directly here if you like.
Why this change?
About nine months back, I decided that I want to write more often.
Knowing what to write about was quite easy. I am an Entrepreneur building an AI company and a lifelong meditator. I feel I have something unique to offer about these topics.
In reality, bringing these topics together under one umbrella ended up being quite a struggle. I eventually brought them together under an umbrella called “Product and Flow: Reflections in Entrepreneurship, Product, AI and Meditation” i.e. this particular publication.
I felt good with the “Product & Flow” tagline, even clever. Then, not so.
I published about 25 blogs in the last 9 months, 15 of them in the last 60 days.
Every blog post became this mini-struggle about who am I writing for.
In the previous days, you would tag a blog and be done.
I realized that the world had changed once I moved to substack. Readers come in to read about a particular topic, and not the author unless they know them. They don’t come in and say “let’s see what wisdom Harpreet has to drop on a topic I don’t care about.”
Focus, Focus and Focus: Know your niche and stick to it
This is the advice I typically give to startup founders. I have decided to embrace the advice.
Another thing that a startup founder has to do is throw some experiments and see what sticks.
This is my next experiment.
